IGOE Conference Focus and Mandate
By Pastor Amos Dada
It is with great joy that I welcome you to this year’s International Gathering of Eagles Conference. God has been good to us by keeping us all alive. We thank God who has brought us so far and we thank you for being part of the great journey, the 11th annual hosting of The International Gathering of Eagles Conference in Canada.
The need for an annual gathering of saints is in obedience to biblical injunction, spiritual direction and prophetic obligation and cannot be over emphasized. We are not called just to gather, but to listen to God, hear what he has for the nations, release such for the use of anointed men and women and declare his righteousness over the nations. The purpose of these conferences is multifaceted. To bring the unsaved to Jesus. To bring the saved, but immature to maturity, the ‘chicken believer’ to become an ‘eagle believer.’ To bring healing to the sick and deliverance to the oppressed. To impart and infuse the Holy Spirit to the weak and get them on fire for Jesus Christ.
Our vision is to raise an ‘Eagle Generation’. A generation of committed, vibrant Holy Spirit filled people of God who want to fulfill the commission our master has committed to our hands with integrity. That is why the theme of this year’s conference is ‘Proclaiming Jesus with Power and Integrity’. We are committed to raising an ‘Eagle Believer Generation’ and reaching Canada and beyond with the gospel. We are called To raise an army of Eagle-saints through the teaching and preaching of the solid Word of God and to bring the Church to a place of maturity in its walk with God.
Have you asked yourself what it means to truly follow Jesus Christ? It is to be a disciple of Jesus. That is why Jesus said go ye into the world and make disciple of nations. If you are not yet a disciple you are still a potential follower living on crumbs of miracles like chickens. A disciple is an eagle. He is focused, committed, willing to forsake all and follow the master. To be a disciple today is to take up the invitation Jesus issued to His disciples to be a fisher of men and women. There is nothing more thrilling, there is no greater adventure, there is no better fulfillment of purpose than to be used of God to fish in the global waters of humanity. That is really what evangelism is, it is fishing for the lost.
When we fish for food, we take fish out of a beautiful life into death. But when we fish for the lost, we take men, women and children out of death into a beautiful life. Jesus said ‘Follow me and I will make you fishers of men’ (Mark 1:17,ESV) He said it to Peter and Peter obeyed and he in one day caught 3000 ‘human fishes’ for Christ!
Why must we proclaim Jesus with Power? Today the Muslims have one agenda – to Islamise the world. That is why you hear about ISIS in Iraq, Free Syrian Army in Syria, Hamas and Hezbollah in Gaza and Middle East, Al-Qaeda in Afghanistan, Boko Haram in Nigeria, and Al-shabaab in Somali maiming, slaughtering, beheading people in thousands and burning churches. This year in this conference we want to teach ourselves the strategies of soul winning. Christians must not allow this threat to go unchallenged. It is not in vain that God said we must receive the Power of the Holy Ghost. It is not sufficient to say these are indications of the end times but we must call a spade a spade -This is a spiritual war, not war of bombs and missiles.
(I Cor. 10:3-6) Where is the power of God that helped Jehoshaphat to conquer the combined armies of Moabites and Ammonites? Where are the angels that specialize in slaying the enemies of God? Where is the God of Elijah as Elisha queried? Where is the God that Esther called upon and Harman was hung on his own gallows? Let us face it, the Boko Haram case in Nigeria is like the case of 1Sam 17. We have a new modern day Goliath challenging our God. We must stop behaving like the company of Saul, Eliab, Abinadab, Shimei and develop the Spirit of David and look for stones that God will use to bring the enemy down!
I like what Tasha Cobbs said “We know where the power is! In the Name of Jesus” She went further to say He is raising an army. The challenge is will you be part of this army? Or will you be satisfied with this bread and butter Christianity that does not go beyond the four walls of the church and conference? Christianity of ‘give me’, ‘give me.’ Or will you say like Esther I will pray, I will fast, I will preach, I will go, I will send people, I will teach, I will give money, I will mobilize the adult, the young adults and the youth, I will do whatever God has called me to do and if I perish I perish!
Brethren, we are also aware that there are some who are already in the business of fishing for Jesus but they are not following Him. John said to Jesus, “Teacher, we saw someone casting out demons in Your name, and we tried to prevent him because he was not following us.” 39 But Jesus said, “Do not hinder him, for there is no one who will perform a miracle in My name, and be able soon afterward to speak evil of Me.… Mark 9:38-39. These are Christians locked up in the web of corruption, cultism, diabolical powers and all manner of vices. Jesus says we are not to condemn them but re-train them and show them the way of integrity. God has enabled me to write a book called –To the Rescue (Say No To Corruption). It is a book written under the auspices of International Gathering of Eagles series to help us proclaim Jesus with Power and integrity. I urge all participants particularly, National coordinators to get copies of this book to their nations.
Therefore as you come for this conference be prepared to be taught, and empowered with strategies that cut across nations and culture that will enable you to proclaim Jesus with Power and integrity. The word of God is living, healing, restoring, enlightening, directing and empowering.
By the grace of God during this conference we shall launch the fourth edition of Eagle Believers magazine. The Magazine is the voice of International Gathering of Eagles Conference and the focus is to give you a glimpse of what God is doing through this conference around the world. It will feature the activities of this ministry in the past one year in the nations where they were held namely Canada, Ghana, Togo and Nigeria. We are working with some of the national coordinators that are here to hold the conference in 12 nations this year.
In conclusion, we cannot but thank the Almighty God for the journey so far and all our numerous supporters spiritually, financially, physically and emotionally. Our special thanks to the speakers of this year, Rev Moises Pimentel (Canada), Rev Judy Mayes (USA). Pastor (Dr) George Ude (USA), Pastor Yomi Ademuagun (USA), Pastor Aanu Ojo, Bishop Gooden Darrel, Rev Allan Bowen (Canada.) We are grateful to the organizing committee, the entire CAC Bethel family and the chairperson and co-chairs for this year’s conference, Lady Evangelist Eyitayo Dada, Pastor E.O. Ojo and Nicholas Ojelade. Make this confession ‘I am not a chicken, I am an eagle and I must soar’. But those who hope in the LORD WILL renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31.We pray God will give you a Rhema word during this conference.
